1941 Pearl Harbor Attack Battleship Damage [8 x 10 Photograph]
The attack on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese against American forces stationed there on December 7, 1941 will never be forgotten. This early morning attack was an effort to keep the United States out of the Pacific by grounding their battleships and carriers. Shown is a dry dock which was integral to the repair effort after Pearl Harbor was attacked. Dry docks can be flooded and drained allowing for ships to be docked safely then repaired. With the help of this dry dock many ships were repaired and able to join the war in the Pacific.
